Company Interior Design – Research Agency
Turnkey Interiors proudly secured the tender bid to design and construct the state-of-the-art showcase offices for the Human Sciences Research Council in Cape Town with optimal space planning. Situated in the vibrant Foreshore district, the new office space spans 4500m2, marking a significant reduction from their previous premises.
Location: Cape Town, Foreshore District, South Africa
Services Rendered: Design and construction of showcase offices
Objectives/Challenges
Our primary objective for this project was to craft a dynamic and adaptable workspace that would comfortably accommodate the staff within the confines of the smaller office layout. As a State-Owned Entity, specific office allocations were mandated by the client, presenting us with the challenge of balancing designated offices with flexible hot desk solutions across the open-plan areas to cater to the full staff complement.
Solution
To address this challenge, our team meticulously designed a variety of work zones, including open meeting booths, phone booths, breakaway areas, and formal boardrooms. The new office space features a modern and sophisticated aesthetic, with sleek finishes and contemporary furnishings. Natural light floods the workspace, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere conducive to productivity and well-being. These multifunctional spaces were tailored to support the transition to a hot desking environment while ensuring adequate office provisions for all staff members. Sustainable materials were used wherever possible, aligning with the client’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
Key Features
– Open Meeting Booths: Designed to encourage collaboration and spontaneous meetings, these booths offer privacy without the need for a designated meeting room.
– Phone Booths: Quiet, enclosed spaces for making phone calls or conducting video conferences, providing acoustic privacy in a busy open-plan environment.
– Breakaway Areas: Informal spaces for employees to relax, recharge, or have impromptu discussions away from their desks, fostering a sense of community and well-being.
– Formal Boardrooms: Dedicated spaces for formal meetings and presentations, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and comfortable seating for productive discussions.
Key Performances by Team Members
– Project Manager: Led the project from conception to completion, ensuring that all client requirements were met on time and within budget.
– Design Team: The team of designers worked tirelessly to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing workspace that reflects the client’s brand identity and values.
– Construction Team: The team of skilled craftsmen executed the construction phase with precision and attention to detail, delivering high-quality workmanship that exceeded client expectations.
